Evolutionary Journey of Spiritual Thought Process and Spirituality

Development of human brain started with the appearance of the neural plate (a group of cells) at around 7nth week of embryonic life. We can call it as our primitive brain, then it forms a neural tube and finally into our brain, brainstem and spinal cord in the third trimester of our embryonic life we have a well-formed brain and spinal cord. Studies have shown that our human learning process started in the womb of mother before birth. Interestingly our brain follows the same evolutionary mechanism from the primitive brain to the most complex human brain, as we have in our evolutionary history. The only difference is that it took only nine months in the womb to complete a process which took millions and millions of years on the natural evolutionary timeline. It happens because of the codings in our DNA in our genes, again which took millions of years to develop into human DNA.

Every thought process in our brain is because of complex biochemical reactions and movement of ions in cells of our brain. Evolution of the system of our thought processes also follows the same evolutionary path that is from simple to complex thought processes. Simple thought processes are those thought processes which we are carrying forward from our ancestors in the animal kingdom, which are essential for survival like food, safety, sex, etc. All the human thought processes like humanity, human values and spirituality are developed thought processes. So, we can see them in our developmental journey from childhood to adulthood.

Our spiritual thought process is the highly developed thought process which is unique to human beings and put us on the top of the animal kingdom. It is because of the highly evolved coding in our DNA and natural evolutionary mechanism of millions of years. This spiritual thought process has three functions controlling, reforming or correcting and exploring. It controls all the animal thought processes those we are carrying forward from our ancestors in the animal kingdom, according to our social and cultural norms. It reforms or corrects all the negative thought processes in all the areas including science, religion, culture, and philosophy. It creates all the thought processes to explore the areas of our existence and our 'Self.' So, the spiritual thought process and spirituality are the original thought processes of religion, cultures, science, and philosophy.

To conclude we can say with these facts of natural evolutionary mechanism that spiritual thought process is the most developed and unique human thought process. All the thought processes of religion (religiosity), science (scientific), culture (cultural) and philosophy (philosophic) are derived from the spiritual thought process (spirituality). A paradigm shift in our understanding of spirituality and religiosity.
